Roald Dahl’s immortal story of Charlie and his adventures in Willy Wonka’s incredible chocolate factory is beloved by readers, moviegoers and theatre audiences across the generations and around the world. Now Joburg Ballet in association with the Roald Dahl Story Company brings it to the ballet stage in a dazzling world premiere choreographed by Mario Gaglione, with an original score by composer Mark Cheyne and magical designs by Andrew Botha.
The ballet features the principals, soloists and company of Joburg Ballet, dancers from WGRUV Dance Company, Joburg Ballet Academy and Joburg Ballet School, and the Johannesburg Philharmonic in the orchestra pit. Prepare to be captivated and bewitched by something truly wonderful.
