It’s no secret that South Africa is home to an illustrious wine industry. Join Proudly South African as they host the inaugural Local Wine Expo happening between 7-9 July 2022! The best part is that the event is free!

What Can I Expect From The Local Wine Expo?

The Proudly South African event will host its Wine Expo at the Sandton Convention Centre. Where they will welcome some of the country’s top winemakers. Local chocolatiers and cheesemakers will also be present at the event. So, locals will be afforded the opportunity to pair a glass of wine with lovely aged cheddar or gourmet chocolate!

An average of 2000 visitors are expected to visit the Expo over the 3 day period. The event will be open from 15:00pm until 20:00pm each day.

The country currently boasts over 92 000 hectares of vines to grow wine grapes. Furthermore, the industry is currently valued at R55 billion and employing up to 270 000 people. This points to the significance and importance of this economy and why the local winemakers need to be celebrated and showcased at events around the country. Especially after two exceptionally difficult years for the industry.

The expo is run in partnership with the Department of Trade Industry and Competition, the Southern Sun, Wine Arc, National Agricultural Marketing Council. Moreover, the SA Wine Industry Transformation Unit, Tourism Business Council of South Africa, and Kaya FM are also partners to the expo.
