A Winter Escape At Destination Irene
Looking for a peaceful escape this weekend? Just a short drive from Johannesburg, Irene Country Lodge, Autograph Collection® is the perfect destination for a luxurious winter getaway, romantic weekend, or...
The Nappy Fun Run returns to the Johannesburg Zoo on Saturday, 5 November 2022. Walk, Wheel or Run at the fun run as they raised funds for a good cause.
It’s the 11th year of the run and the goal remains the same, to raise awareness about children and adults with disabilities and to encourage entrants to bring along children’s nappies and adult incontinence pants. Donations will be accepted until 3 December 2022. There is also an option to select a Nappy Rands donations ticket on Quicket when you purchase your ticket online.
“Disposable nappies are expensive and often unaffordable to the majority of families of children with disabilities. Without a nappy, children are often denied dignity, comfort, freedom of movement, and there is health compromised,” says Therina Wentzel. National Director at the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities.
So, bring your walking shoes along, wear some sunblock and get your fitness crew together to run or walk at your own pace for a good cause. The race starts at 07:30 while registration takes place from 06:30 at the main gate. Tickets are R100 for adults and R60 for children under 14 while kids under 3 can participate at no cost.
