Because the Modderfontein Farmer’s Market market only happens on the last Saturday of the month, you won’t want to miss out on this East Rand experience! The venue for the market is in the beautiful Modderfontein Bird and Sculpture Park.

What Is The Modderfontein Farmer’s Market About?

The Farmer’s Market is a craft and food market set on the banks of the picturesque Flamingo Dam. It is located inside the Modderfontein Bird & Sculpture Park opposite the Flamingo Shopping Centre.

Because the market has been described as a family market you’re also allowed to bring your four legged family members with! There are over 60 stalls present at the market. So, you’re bound to find something of interest! Whether it’s found at the food or craft stalls. There are kids crafts and a lovely playground area to keep your little ones entertained. After you’ve walked around, enjoy a meal in front of the live music and breath in the fresh air. The entrance fee to the park is R10 each. But, kids under 6 enter for free.

Paws in the Park

To make the market more interesting, there will be a pet competition with categories such as most obedient and best dressed. Moreover, categories such as best groomed and best owner-pooch look-alike will also be considered. The entrance fee for the competition is R50 and all proceeds will go to local animal rescue charities. The competition will take place between 11:30 and 14h30.
