Le Nozze Di Figaro at Roodepoort Theatre

The collaboration between the Cape Town Opera and the Gauteng based Sempre Opera presents, Le Nozze di Figaro. The show will run between 6 and 15 July 2022 at the Roodepoort Theatre.

What can I expect at the Le Nozze Di Figaro production?

The Opera is directed by Opera singer and Artist, Magdalene Minnaar. Moreover, the set and costume designs by Martha Visage and Rabia Davids are sure to enhance the storyline and bring the characters to life. Furthermore, the Sempre Opera Instrumental Ensemble is conducted by Schalk van der Merwe.

Based off the works of Austrian composer, Mozart, this Opera in particular has a modern twist to it. Those that have watched the opera before have described it as a “good dollop of farce, adultery, role-playing and cunning scheming.”

The show boasts a fantastic South African cast that includes the likes of Conroy Scott as Figaro, William Berger and Siphamandla Moyake as Count and Countess Almaviva, Brittany Smith as Susanna. Megan Kahts as Cherubino, Monica Mhangwana as Marcellina. Furthermore, the cast includes; Danie Verster as Bartolo, Chris Mostert as Basilio/Don Curzio, Alida Stoman as Barbarina and featuring Rouel Beukes as Antonio.
