Enjoy a taste of “kasi” in the city with the Jozi Kota Festival happening on the 5th of November 2022.
First things first, what is a kota? If you didn’t already know, a Kota is a“quarter” sized bread that is hollowed out and filled with various toppings. The aim of the event is to showcase flavours of the vibrant Johannesburg townships and to bring the food to the city. The widely anticipated event will be hosted at The Station venue in Newtown. Additionally, people from around the country are encouraged to pay a visit to the event to have a bite of the best Kasi Kota flavours straight from Gauteng.
Known as the biggest kota festival in the country, some of the toppings you can look forward to are; Russian, Vienna, Ham, Bacon, Coleslaw, Egg and Cheese. Doors to the event open at 10:00 while the festival ends at midnight. In case you were wondering, children’s entertainment is available. Secured parking is available for R50.
Futhermore, tickets are R100 for adults, R80 for students and R70 for children between 4 and 12 years of age. Tickets can be purchased at the gate at an increased fee. So, what are you waiting for? Book your tickets to the best kasi experience!
