What Can I Expect From The Heritage Hike- Linksfield Ridge and Harvey Nature Reserve?

Joburg’s ridges are its defining feature and the Linksfield Ridge is one of our most magnificent. Should you attend the hike, you will be shown along the iconic Linksfield Ridge through the Harvey Nature Reserve, which boasts spectacular views across Kensington and Orange Grove.

This hike in particular, also features a wealth of bird and plant life, quirky historical stories, a geological heritage that goes back 3 billion years. The route also provides attendees with some of the best selfie opportunities in Joburg! Please note that this is a strenuous hike with several steep inclines and declines. It is only recommended for those who are moderately fit. The total walking distance is about 5 kilometres.

Don’t forget to bring your hats, sunscreen, lots of water, snacks, and good hiking shoes or boots along with you. Please note that no dogs will be allowed as this is a nature reserve.
