What Can I Expect From The Fordsburg’s Finest Production?

In a nutshell, the protagonist is a strong willed women that moved to New York with her parents as an infant. Thandi is the daughter of a black South African musician and now she wants to go back to Johannesburg, Fordsburg specifically, to trace and learn more about her roots and heritage. On her journey she bumps into an Afrikaner ex-policeman who is mourning the loss of his son in the border war.

The play is about reconciliation, mutual loss and suffering. It follows the story of an unlikely pair helping each other on a path of self discovery. This uplifting play sees the author reflect on a true, turbulent South African landscape a few years after the collapse of Apartheid. The play will leave you invoking empathy for unlikely characters. The production has a running time of 85 minutes with no interval. Tickets start from R135 per person depending on where you choose to sit.
