The Melrose Arch Gallery’s Wine Wednesdays
Are you an art and wine enthusiast? Then don't miss out on the Melrose Arch Gallery's Wine Wednesdays, every Wednesday evening during the month of March. What To Expect at...
Bedford Centre is eggs-cited (excuse the pun) to announce that its halls will be filled with chocolate, cheer and charming installations this Easter. Be sure to pay a visit to Bedford Centre for their EGG-Hibition! The event is hosted between Monday, 27 March and Friday, 14 April 2023.
Take your kids to view the speckled dot installation, this school holiday. A part from the installation, the centre also plays host to an Easter Eggs-hibition featuring giant Easter eggs, beautifully decorated by twelve schools from across Johannesburg!
In terms of the eggs-hibition, each participating school was provided with an enormous one-metre high egg to decorate. The brief was simply to be creative, and enjoy crafting an exquisite design that is eye-catching! Bedford Centre Shoppers are invited to support the participating schools by voting for their favourite egg. By doing so, one school will in a R 10 000 shopping voucher. To vote, simply scan the QR code on display next to the egg and follow the prompts.
Inspired by Japanese avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama, shoppers of all ages can admire the speckled-dot art installation found in front of the escalators on the lower level. This vibrant experience involves the transformation of a white space into a flamboyant one using colourful dot stickers. Moreover, you can get involved too! Shoppers will be given a sheet of stickers in various sizes, to apply anywhere they would like. Essentially this will help to transform the white installation into a riot of colours. There is no entry fee to view the Eggs-hibition, or to participate in the speckled dot installation.
“The speckled dot installation and the collection of decorated eggs are both elegant and eclectic and complement the spirit of the season so well” said Linda Linnow, General Manager Bedford Centre. “We encourage all shoppers to vote to acknowledge the hard work put in by the schools and to celebrate the wonderful creativity on display. It truly is in a class of its own,” she added.
