Did you know that Joburg has its own Donkey sanctuary? It’s based in Roodepoort and you can visit, feed the donkeys and watch a classic movie at their drive in movie evening.
What Can I Expect from The Drive-In Movie Night?
After you’ve interacted with the Donkeys, jump back into the comfort of your car and get ready to watch the 2003, animation film, Finding Nemo. Bring some pillows and blankets to keep you warm and comfortable.
The cost for the movie evening is R40 per person. Moreover, the movie starts at 18:00 but the gates will be open from 16:30. So, you can get there a bit early find some parking and catch the sunset. The establishment will be selling hot food with some Vegan options as well. You can also purchase some items from the tuckshop including hot chocolate, coffee, and a movie evening favourite, popcorn!
All proceeds from the event will be going towards the care of the 121 Donkeys that are found at the sanctuary.
