The long-awaited Highland Gathering is taking place on Saturday, 27 May 2023 at De La Salle Holy Cross College.

What Can I Expect From The DLSHCC Highland Gathering?

You’ll want to add this event to your social calendar, as the 2023 Highland Gathering will be the BIGGEST gathering to date! Since the inaugural event in 1979, it has grown to become one of the leading events on the pipe band and Highland dance calendars. It has also become one of the biggest fundraising and community connection events at the College.

As a credit to the professionalism and popularity of the event, the 2023 Gathering has been awarded Championship Status elevating the stature of the event. The competition is always fierce as the pipe bands perform for the judges! Gates open from 08:00 and the entrance fee is R50 per person.

So, what can guests look forward to? Well, there is a wide variety of catering to suit all tastes is available all day, as well as coffee vendors, a tea garden and, of course, the very popular beer garden! There will be activities for kids, from toddlers to teens. Please note that there is a R100 entrance fee for access to the children’s area.

But that’s not all, there is also a market of handpicked stalls catering to shoppers and browsers with a diverse range of must-have items. However, the highlight of the day is when all the bands form up for the massed bands presentation which is one of the most rousing performances you will ever see!
