Want to spend some time outdoors? Why not take part in the Declathlon Social Hike and support a good cause at the same time! The hike takes place on Sunday, 3 July.
What to expect at the Decathlon Social Hike?
Local hiker, Tanya Pembroke, will be leading the social hike at B’sorah Trails in Broederstroom (Hartbeespoort). No bookings are required, you can just show up and choose between the various trails; 5km, 8km, 10km, 12 km, 15km and even 18kms if you’re up to the challenge!
The trails are pet friendly, so bring you furry friend along for the hike. The aim for this hike is to get participants and hikers to bring any dog or cat food, wet or dry to donate to the Woodrock Animal Rescue in Pretoria. Blankets are also a welcomed donation!
The Woodrock Animal Rescue is a non-profit, pro-life, rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing shelter in South Africa. They have over 500 animals in their care at any time, which is why they rely on public donations to further their cause.
There is a Hiking Trail fee of R70 for Adults and Children under 12. Children between 2 and 12 years pay R30 to enter the trails.
