Looking for a unique way to get some exercise? Head over to Vergenoeg for their Cheese, Wine and Olive Trail. The event takes place on Saturday, 25 February 2023.
Vergenoeg is situated on the slopes of the Magaliesberg overlooking the Skeerpoort valley & the Hartbeespoort dam. According to the orgainsers, “It’s diverse surroundings & spectacular views will take you to the top of the ridge offering you a view of the whole valley below.” Part of the trail takes you on the sights where you will be able to spot over 200 various bird species and more than 50 indigenous trees.
Tickets start from R250 per person. What does your entry fee include? A Finisher Medal (a branded glass at the finish line) followed by a cheese, wine & olive oil experience! You can also look forward to experiencing the chill zone with live music, fully stocked waterpoints and access to well-marked trails.
Furthermore, there is a pop up restaurant on site with optional gin & beer on tap, a true Wild African Experience! According to the organisers, the race will challenge you but you will also be rewarded! Walkers and hikers are more than welcome to enter as the race caters for all fitness levels ranging from 5km to a challenging 12km up the cliffs.
