A Winter Escape At Destination Irene
Looking for a peaceful escape this weekend? Just a short drive from Johannesburg, Irene Country Lodge, Autograph Collection® is the perfect destination for a luxurious winter getaway, romantic weekend, or...
In accordance with the famous lyric, the sentiment that “one is never fully dressed without a smile” holds particularly true for individuals navigating persistent challenges in an unequal world. Be sure to support this worthy cause and dress up on Friday, 1 September 2023!
Within such a context, a smile serves as an initial step towards dismantling obstacles and bridging the divisions that society tends to erect. Universally, a smile communicates a language of encouragement, positivity, and solidarity, capable of instilling hope in those who experience solitude, while also serving as a reminder of our visibility, audibility, and intrinsic value.
In light of these considerations, the forthcoming 2023 Casual Day theme is proudly revealed as “Share a Smile.” The scheduled date for Casual Day is Friday, 1 September 2023, all in support of individuals with disabilities. It is worth acknowledging that a smile carries no monetary cost. However, a donation of R20 for the acquisition of a Casual Day Sticker or the purchase of supporter merchandise holds the potential to significantly impact the lives of those who stand most in need.
The influence of a solitary smile can indeed trigger a cascade of love, benevolence, goodwill, and compassion. By actively engaging in the act of “SHARING A SMILE,” one extends an invitation for others to participate in kind. Although this theme accommodates diverse interpretations, its essence remains rooted in the sincere expressions of real individuals.
Rather than donning elaborate costumes resembling oversised emojis, an alternative proposition emerges. Accentuating one’s own distinctive smile through the medium of makeup. The call to action is clear – SHARE YOUR SMILE, whether in a widespread manner, or with a hint of bashfulness. The key is to share it with all, embracing the spirit of CASUAL DAY.
A notable achievement, as Casual Day enters its 29th year, is the collective endeavour that has raised and distributed over R435 million rand throughout the nation. Thus fostering elevation and disseminating hope. This year, South Africans of all ages can procure retro-inspired Stickers, T-Shirts, Caps, and Bucket Hats, all of which can be sourced from Casual Day’s official website at www.casualday.co.za, as well as from participating non-profit organisations, community-based entities, schools, retailers, and corporations.
