Rarely does this tour come around! Embrace the vibrant energy of Braamfontein on a Saturday morning, where music resonates from every corner and a lively crowd fills the streets, all thanks to the bustling playground market and its array of restaurants and coffee shops. Save the date for the Braamfontein: Street Art, Coffee & Fun Tour taking place on Saturday, 16 March 2024.
What Can I Expect From The Braamfontein: Street Art, Coffee & Fun?
Steeped in history from its days as a bustling hub during the gold rush, Braamfontein has transformed into a dynamic urban center, attracting a diverse community of students, artists, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
Your leisurely stroll through Braamfontein, coffee in hand, is a journey through its vibrant street art scene, highlighting local talents like Hannelie Coetzee and faith47. You will then ascend the hill to the liberty building, where the newly established Indwe park awaits, adorned with a stunning mosaic by Spaza art gallery, celebrating the essence of Joziburg with indigenous plants.
On the Western side of Bertha Street, captivating murals with thought-provoking social commentary await our admiration. This excursion culminates near the Playground market, just before noon, where an array of food stalls offers delights from spring rolls to curly fries, accompanied by refreshing fruit juices or a selection from the well-stocked bar. The market also features the popular “paint and sip” creative arts activity, along with fashion and art for sale, catering to all tastes.
Join this tour as you commence your journey at 09:30 in front of Kitchener’s on De Beer Street and conclude at 12:00 near the playground market, also on De Beer Street. The fee is R250 per person for an experience that promises to be as enriching as it is enjoyable!
