Hey Joburg, guess what? The Houghton Bonsai and Succulent Show is back! The Japanese plant related event takes place over a weekend from Friday, 4 November until Sunday, 6 November 2022.

What Can I Expect From The Bonsai Show?

After a hugely successful event in 2021, you can look forward to another weekend filled with all things green, beautiful and growing. So, what can visitors expect to see? Well, there are plenty of displays and workshops and demonstrations dealing with gardening and specific plants. You’ll also be able to purchase Bonsai and Succulents from suppliers.

Popular workshops at the event include:
‘How to care for your succulent’ hosted by the Johannesburg Succulent Society,
‘Orchid care, culture and re-potting’ hosted by The Witwatersrand Orchid Society,
‘What makes a good bonsai and how to keep your bonsai alive’ hosted by The
Bonsai Guru,
‘The extraordinary world of carnivorous plants’ hosted by Jozi Carnivores.

On sale will be air plants, home decor and various craft stalls. The Houghton Bonsai and Succulent show is hosted at the Killarney Mall, one of Johannesburg’s most established shopping centre’s. There is no entrance fee to attend the event.
