Because the event is taking place at Ground The Venue, it has been named Ground Cru. The word “cru” is derived from the French word meaning: a vineyard or group of vineyards, one of recognised superior quality. The much-anticipated event takes place on Saturday, 25 March 2023.

What Can I Expect at 2023 The Ground Cru Event?

In essence, you can expect a sophisticated and laid back Autumn day with friends and family as you bond over delicious food and wine. The Wine of course, is provided by some of the country’s top wine farms! The event takes place at Ground The Venue, a stone’s throw away from the Cradle of Humankind in Muldersdrift.

The cost per person is R350. Your ticket includes: samplings and tastings at each stand and a branded glass upon arrival, which you can take home as a memento. Food and Wine are the ultimate combo and you can look forward to the food stalls in the Pecan Plantation. Some of the stalls include; The Filthy Moustache, Don Paella, Ground’s Famous Chicken Prego’s & Lamb Naan and much more!

Some of the Wine Farms that will be present at the event include; Brampton, Boschendal. Fryer’s Cove, Franschoek Cellars, Backsberg 5th Generation and plenty more household names! You will also have the opportunity to purchase Wine at Cellar Prices (so that you can stock up for those get togethers and good times).

Major credit cards and Zapper are welcome, they do not accept cash. Tickets cost R350 per person. Kids under the age of 18 pay R100 at the door and kids under the age of 3 pay no entry fee. There will be jumping castle and pony rides for children to enjoy. Please note that there are limited amount of tickets available.
