It’s Destination Christmas 2020 At Melrose Arch

Exciting news, Joburg! Melrose Arch is lighting up the city yet again this silly season. Not only will they have stunning light displays and family fun for all ages over the next few weeks, but they are also extending their trading hours to ensure you get all your Christmas shopping done in time. Happy holidays!

Melrose Arch Lights Up This Festive Season

Melrose Arch is bringing the magic back to Christmas this festive season with dazzling Christmas light displays throughout the precinct, as well as plenty of fun for the whole family. Remember the days when we’d pile into the car and drive through the streets of the city, admiring the beautiful Christmas lights on display? Those days may be long gone, but Melrose Arch is reviving the tradition!

Melrose Arch will dazzle the city with a spectacular display of lights and a new Fantasy Garden on the Piazza. All the sparkling lights will be switched on on Friday, 22 November 2019 at 18:30 with a special ceremony featuring some of South Africa’s most popular singers. The ever-popular Mi Casa and Mzansi Youth Choir are the highlights of this year’s ceremony. Be sure to check out the other restaurants at Melrose Arch as well.

The award-winning Mi Casa has been a firm favourite on the South African music scene for many years. The trio – J’Something, Mo-T and Dr Duda – will get everyone singing and dancing as they wait for the lights to be turned on.

The Mzansi Youth Choir is renowned for its pulsating energy and youthful enthusiasm and, of course, the choir’s incredible voices constantly attract rave reviews. The Mzansi Youth Choir will be spreading festive joy by singing everyone’s favourite Christmas carols.

What To Expect This Year

From 6 November 2020 – 10 January 2021, the precinct will come to life with an exciting festive entertainment programme, perfect for the whole family.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a special visit from Santa Claus, so he will be visiting the precinct over weekends during December.
