Come and join the team at Rest ur Ass Donkey Sancturary for a Movie and Picnic with The Donkeys! The movie night takes place on 4 November 2022.

What Can I Expect From The Movie and Picnic with The Donkeys?

Did you know that Joburg has its own Donkey sanctuary? It’s based in Roodepoort and you can visit, feed the donkeys and watch a classic movie at their drive in movie evening. Don’t forget to bring your blankets, camping chairs and a picnic basket along. However, there will also be food vendors as well (with vegan options) that you can purchase from.

Feed the donkeys healthy snacks available at the sanctuary for R10. The Tuckshop will also be open for popcorn, slushpuppy, and a lot more perfect for snacking while watching a movie! The movie starts at sunset around 18:15. The movie that is going to be screened is The Rise of Gru with a 1 hour 30-minute running time.

Here is a quick synopsis of the movie. In the 1970s, young Gru tries to join a group of supervillains called the Vicious 6 after they oust their leader the legendary fighter Wild Knuckles. When the interview turns disastrous, Gru and his Minions go on the run with the Vicious 6 hot on their tails. Luckily, he finds an unlikely source for guidance — Wild Knuckles himself — and soon discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.

Tickets are R 40 each and they can be purchased at the gate. Cash and card are both accepted.
