What Can I Expect From Stand Up Comedy at The Bioscope?

This quaint Milpark venue is well known for hosting comedy evenings! If you get to the venue ahead of time, grab a bite to eat at one of the many beautiful cafes and restaurants at 44 Stanley. The comedy show starts at 6:30pm and lasts roughly 2 hours. Furthermore, tickets cost R120 per person to see and hear quality South African comedians in action! The event is open to individuals older than 18.

Furthermore the lineup for the Stand up Comedy at The Bioscope is; Lindy Johnson, Shanray Van Wyk and Robby Collins. Collins is a household name that needs no introduction. The lanky comedian hails from Durban and has quickly established himself as a nation-touring comedian. He is perhaps best known for being an opening act for Trevor Noah’s one man shows including, Day Walker and Nationwild.

Catering to both English and Afrikaans audiences, Shanray started his comedy career in 2016 making his debut at the Savanna Newcomers Showcase that was held in Soweto Theatre. Moreover, according to critics, his stage presence and delivery is out of this world. Originally from Paarl, Johnson has quickly become a popular South African comedian after winning a newcomer comedy competition in 2017.
