Take a journey that uncovering real and raw inner-city Hillbrow – a historic and culturally rich neighbourhood in Joburg. Dlala Nje invites you to embark on this tour, giving guests...
Introducing the Echo Beats Jazz Festival, a unique initiative founded by Olunje Foundation, a Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to youth development in arts, sports, and culture. Their vision is to create a self-sustainable project that leaves a positive impact on communities. The event takes place on Saturday, 26 August 2023.
Their mission is to reach the townships and rural areas within Gauteng, conducting auditions and scouting for five exceptionally talented artists (bands). These chosen artists will receive comprehensive development, transforming them into online music sensations. Additionally, they will foster collaborations with national prominent artists, leveraging their fan base to catapult the emerging talents from the shadows.
The Echo Beats Jazz Festival unfolds in four stages:
The Auditions: Focused on rural and township jazz clubs, where hidden gems will get their chance to shine.
The Five Days Music Workshop: An intensive program that hones the skills and potential of their selected artists.
The Music Festival at Johannesburg Expo: The grand showcase where our rising stars will mesmerise the audience with their incredible performances.
This project strongly aligns with the national development plan of the country, emphasising nation-building, social cohesion, creating employment opportunities, and preserving the arts.
Join the event organisers in celebrating the beauty of jazz and the power of youth development. Together, let’s build a brighter future for the talented artists and the communities they represent. Tickets start from R350 per person.
