Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival

Looking for a way to ring in the New Year? Bring the whole family to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit at the Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival on 4 February 2023.

What Can I Expect From The Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival?

Celebrate Chinese New Year and The Chinese Association’s 120th birthday in style at the lantern festival! Guests can look forward to a musical firework display and enjoy some entertainment from 15:00. While the Fireworks display takes place at 20:00. The much anticipated event is hosted at The Sacred Heart College in Observatory.

The event organisers have ensured that there is parking and security onsite. Tickets cost R60 per adult while pensioners pay R30 for an entry. Children under 12 may enter the event at no cost. Should you attend the event here’s what else you can look froward to; Lion & Dragon Dance Performance,Chinese Dancing & Singing,Martial Arts Display, and the Fo Guang Shan Nan Hua Performing Arts Group.

There will be plenty of food stalls available to keep you satisfied. To make it a truly enjoyable day outdoors be sure to bring your own picnic blankets and chairs.
